What We Believe

As a congregation of the Presbyterian Church in America, we hold to the Westminster Standards

THE BIBLE

We believe the Bible is the written word of God, inspired by the Holy Spirit and without error in the original manuscripts. The Bible is the revelation of God’s truth and is infallible and authoritative in all matters of faith and practice.

GOD

We believe in the Holy Trinity. There is one God, who exists eternally in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. These three persons are the same in substance and all co-equal, co-eternal, and co-essential.

HUMAN BEINGS

God created Adam and Eve in his image and good. But they fell into a state of sin. As a result, all people are sinners and totally unable to save themselves from God’s displeasure, except by His mercy.

SALVATION

We believe that salvation is by God alone as He sovereignly chooses those He will save. We believe His choice is based on His grace, not on any human individual merit or foreseen faith. He saves through Jesus Christ in the Old and New Testaments.

JESUS CHRIST

We believe that Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, who through his perfect life, sacrificial death, and triumphant resurrection atoned for the sins of all who will trust in him and reconciled them eternally to God.

COVENANT

The Bible is the unified story of God's unfolding salvation throughout history. We believe that God is gracious and faithful to his people as individuals, but also as families in successive generations according to his covenant promises.

THE HOLY SPIRIT

We believe that the Holy Spirit is the third person of the Triune God. He indwells God’s people and gives them the strength and wisdom to trust Christ and follow Him.

CHRIST'S RETURN

We believe that Jesus will return bodily and visibly. He will judge all mankind and receive His people into his eternal kingdom.

HUMAN PURPOSE

We believe that all aspects of our lives are to be lived under the Lordship of Jesus Christ. We live to glorify God and enjoy him forever.
