Elder Dennis Helsel, Cornerstone Presbyterian Castle Rock

Dennis Helsel

Elder

Dennis Helsel has served as a ruling elder in the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA) for over 30 years. Even longer than that, he has led small group Bible studies—a ministry he continues to cherish. On Sundays, Dennis finds joy in singing with both his church choir and the greater "choir" of God's people gathered in worship.

Originally from Virginia, Dennis moved to Colorado with his wife and two daughters, where he played a key role in helping launch a new church. He spent three decades working for the U.S. Government before retiring and founding his own business, where he now teaches statistics to scientists. Dennis is currently reading “In the Year of Our Lord” by Sinclair Ferguson and “Dark Clouds, Deep Mercy: Discovering the Grace of Lament” by Mark Vroegop.

Bruce has been a faithful member of Cornerstone Presbyterian Church since 2000, where he serves as a ruling elder. He has a deep love for church history and polity and is known for his thoughtful leadership and steady presence within the congregation.

Professionally, Bruce is in his 38th year at Lockheed Martin in Littleton, Colorado, where he continues to serve with dedication and excellence.

Elder Mike Hutchins, Cornerstone Presbyterian Castle Rock

Mike Hutchins

Elder

Mike was born in Bolivia and raised in a non-Christian home in Colorado. Over 25 years ago, he came to faith in Jesus as Messiah and was baptized—marking the beginning of a lifelong journey of discipleship. He and his wife, Lori, are the proud parents of eight children and, in recent years, have been joyfully blessed with five grandchildren.

Together with his family, Mike has had the distinct privilege of serving as a missionary in Mexico—first in the northern border city of Ciudad Juárez, and later in the southern state of Chiapas. His ministry included village outreach, church planting, discipleship, and evangelism, all of which he embraced with passion and purpose.

A dedicated student and advocate of both Reformed and Biblical theology, Mike has pursued deep theological study throughout his Christian life. He is currently reading Angels by Dr. Michael Heiser.

Professionally, Mike has spent many years working as a software developer. Outside of work, he enjoys fishing, hiking, woodworking, and relaxing at the cigar shop. During his time in Mexico, he developed an interest in coffee—learning to grow, process, and roast it. To this day, he continues to roast his own coffee at home.
